What are Agents?
Agents represent a shift from traditional, reactive software toward proactive, intelligent automation. An Agent is a software entity that can perceive its environment, make decisions, and take actions to achieve a goal.
In Chameleon, Agents are designed to run helpful, intelligent tasks on your behalf—adapting to your users, data, and goals—without requiring constant setup or oversight.
What Does the Feature Analyzer Agent Do?
The feature analyzer agent targets users who have triggered specific events in your product relating to a feature.
It creates and intercepts the user with a survey asking about their experience of using that feature.
They are asked to rate the experience and are then asked an AI generated follow up question based on their rating.

AI writes custom survey questions for the event and description you choose.
🧠 Excludes users who show signs of experience fatigue (dismissed the 3 prior in-app Experiences they received)
🕰️ Delivers at the right time using Smart Delay, showing the survey only when the user has paused on the page.
📊 Summarizes results into intelligent, shareable reports with key themes and quotes
🔍 Creates 2 Smart Segments - one for positive and one negative segment for easy follow-ups (to target these with further in-app Experiences to collect reviews or book calls)
No Builder 🚫
One distinct aspect of our new approach with Agents is no longer needing or allowing any manual editing via the Builder.
We know that customers are very used to editing and tweaking their in-app experience with the Builder, setting configurations like position, URL and display rules, content, style, etc.
However, we believe we can remove the need for this work by using your Themes and our best practices to pre-build an in-app microsurvey that looks fantastic out of the box.
This aligns with our belief that the software of the future uses automation and intelligence to do the work, and treat you as a customer as an "orchestrator" and "reviewer" vs. a "doer" or "creator"
We invite feedback in case the pre-built microsurvey does not meet your expectations or includes/excludes a configuration that would prevent you from using it.

The Feature Analyzer regularly analyzes incoming responses and generates a concise, actionable report. You’ll get:

Export raw data as a CSV at any time for further analysis or reporting.

See and save individual themes in the report as well as take action on them, for example:
Create a PRD from common negative product feedback to add to Linear, Jira etc
Gather reviews or testimonials from users on certain theme
Auto share survey results and AI generated summaries straight to slack periodically
Self-learning, AI optimised user interception. Let the AI figure out the best time to ask users for feedback.

Setup and Configuration
We've tried to automate and simplify as many aspects of creating this Agent as possible. To configure, visit the Agents page in your Chameleon dashboard.
Access the Agent Builder
Go to the Agents page in your Chameleon dashboard.
If you don't see Agents in your side navigation then you don't have access to this functionality; don't worry, it'll be coming soon to more customers!
If you're creating your first Agent, click “Create an Agent” or select the NPS Agent card to begin.
Publish with a few simple inputs
1. Define the event: choose the event that marks feature usage and review the feature description (this will be used to write the microsurvey copy)
2. Preview & customize: Review the experience and apply your theme.
3. Confirm the Audience: view the audience for the survey and add any exclusions.
4. Publish: Launch your Agent with a click.
Once published, your Feature Analyzer will begin delivering the survey and collecting responses immediately.
The AI-powered summary report unlocks after receiving 20 responses.
Raw response data is available after just 1 response.
