What are Agents?

Agents represent a shift from traditional, reactive software toward proactive, intelligent automation. An Agent is a software entity that can perceive its environment, make decisions, and take actions to achieve a goal.

In Chameleon, Agents are designed to run helpful, intelligent tasks on your behalf—adapting to your users, data, and goals—without requiring constant setup or oversight.


What Does the Call Booker Do?

The Call Booker targets a specified audience with a generated experience designed to schedule a call with someone from your team.

  • 📞 Streamlines call booking with a single-step experience that opens your call booking link directly

  • 🎯Target specific users with custom audience segments or smart segments to reach the right people at the right time

  • 🧠 Prevents experience fatigue by excluding users who have dismissed the last 3 in-app experiences (Tours or Microsurveys)

  • 🕰️ Delivers at the right time using Smart Delay, showing the experience only when the user has paused on the page

  • 🔍 Rate limiting ensures users don't see multiple experiences on the same day

  • Gentle persistence: Offers a "Later" option that defers the experience by 2 weeks

  • Auto-dismiss: Automatically closes after 15 seconds if no action is taken, deferring by 2 weeks

  • Exit after persistence: After the second dismiss, the user exits the experience flow

No Builder 🚫

One distinct aspect of our new approach with Agents is no longer needing or allowing any manual editing via the Builder.

We know that customers are very used to editing and tweaking their in-app experience with the Builder, setting configurations like position, URL and display rules, content, style, etc.

However, we believe we can remove the need for this work by using your Themes and our best practices to pre-build an in-app microsurvey that looks fantastic out of the box.

This aligns with our belief that the software of the future uses automation and intelligence to do the work, and treat you as a customer as an "orchestrator" and "reviewer" vs. a "doer" or "creator"

We invite feedback in case the pre-built Experience does not meet your expectations or includes/excludes a configuration that would prevent you from using it.

Intelligent Call Management

The Call Booker Agent automatically manages your call booking goals:

📊 Conversion tracking: Uses a typical conversion funnel (Audience → 25% view rate → 10% click rate → 50% booking rate = 1.25% overall conversion)

🎯 Target management: Automatically unpublishes the experience when your estimated call booking target is reached

💬 Proactive alerts: Notifies you via chat when the call booking target is unlikely to be met, allowing you to adjust

⚙️ Smart sampling: Adjusts the percentage of your audience shown the experience based on your call booking goals

    • Automatically initiate the Call Booker on Feature Detractors (via Feature Analyzer)

    • Initiate the call booker on all users who have expressed feedback that follows a certain theme.


Setup and Configuration

We've tried to automate and simplify as many aspects of creating this Agent as possible. To configure, visit the Agents page in your Chameleon dashboard.

If you don't see Agents in your side navigation then you don't have access to this functionality; don't worry, it'll be coming soon to more customers!

Access the Agent Builder

Go to the Agents page in your Chameleon dashboard.

If you're creating your first Agent, click “Create an Agent” or select the Call Booker card to begin.

Follow the 3-Step Setup

1. Chat setup: just chat with the agent to setup, the agent will gather the right details from you it needs to go live like call booking link and call booking target.

2. Preview & customize: Review the experience and apply your theme.

3. Confirm the Audience: view the audience for the survey and add any exclusions.

4. Publish: Launch your Agent with a click.

Auto Unpublish

Once the Call Booker reaches the estimated call booking target it will automatically unpublish the experience. NB - The call booker uses an estimate of calls booked and the number of calls booked may vary slightly depending on your audience.
