Most Demo views happen before someone becomes a user—which means a lot of engagement happens in the dark. The Demo Audience table gives you visibility into both anonymous and identified visitors, and automatically connects the two when a prospect identifies themselves. You get the full engagement story, not just the part that happens after signup.

What is the Demo Audience table?
When someone views your Interactive Demo without being logged in, Chameleon tracks their activity anonymously. If that same person later signs up or identifies themselves, Chameleon automatically connects their earlier anonymous session to their user profile—giving you a complete picture of engagement from first look to conversion.
The Audience table shows you every visitor who has viewed your Demo, split into two groups:
Identified Visitors are users that Chameleon matched to a known profile. You can see their name, how they engaged with your Demo, along with some default user properties.
👉 You can access their profile in Chameleon and see all associated data, if they belong to a company, and how they engage with other Chameleon Experiences.
Anonymous Visitors are unmatched sessions where the viewer hasn't yet identified themselves. Their activity is still tracked and retained, so if they identify later, their history carries over automatically.
You can toggle between Identified Visitors and Anonymous Visitors using the controls in the top right of the table.
ℹ The Audience table reflects the date range selected in the Demo Performance section at the top of the Analytics page. Adjust the date range there to filter which visitor sessions appear in the table.
How to use it
Navigate to Dashboard > Demos and open the Demo you want to analyze
Go to the Analytics tab
Scroll to the Audience section
Toggle between Identified and Anonymous Visitors to review engagement
💡 You can cross-reference low completion rates among anonymous visitors with your identified visitor data to spot whether drop-off improves post-signup, a useful signal for Demo quality.
Demo started and completed events are available as segmentation filters in Chameleon. That means you can build a segment of users who completed a specific Demo but haven't taken a follow-up action, and target them with an in-app nudge.
💡 Check the Anonymous Visitors tab regularly if you're showing Demos externally (on your website or in outbound campaigns). High anonymous completion rates signal strong interest from prospects who haven't yet identified themselves.
👉 Use the date range selector to compare audience engagement across different time periods—useful for spotting whether a Demo update improved completion rates, or whether a specific campaign drove a spike in anonymous views.
