Chameleon works best when you connect your user and product data to Experiences' performance.

In this lesson, you'll learn how to make the best of the available data and how you can enrich your Experience analytics and targeting. 😌

πŸ‘‰ Check out the demo below to see how to leverage your data in Chameleon.

There are 2 types of information you can send to and out of Chameleon, both tied to performance analytics, personalizing, and targeting Experiences:

  • user properties

  • events and event properties

You can use both types of data to enrich your understanding of your users and deliver better Experiences.

πŸ‘‰ Next, let's see how Chameleon collects data and how you can use it to improve your product guidance.

We collect data that enables Chameleon to deliver its core service. Any personal data collected is used to identify users and display targeted, relevant content.

πŸ’‘ The first time Chameleon loads onto your website, it adds a set of default properties to your user profiles. This is essential for Chameleon to work with your product - correctly identifying your users and showing them specific Experiences.

All attributes that Chameleon collects you will see as properties in your Dashboard. Chameleon adds these to each user, and you can use them for further targeting or reporting. The default data includes properties like:

  • language,

  • type of browser,

  • first seen by Chameleon,

  • or the number of web sessions.

🎯 You can view a comprehensive list of the user properties that Chameleon collects here.

Chameleon also collects events - the actions your users take - and you can use these to tailor Experiences to be relevant and personal. The events include actions like:

  • Tour was completed

  • Goal was met

  • Microsurvey was exited

  • Launcher checklist was seen

πŸ’‘ Both event and user data will be available for you to use when you create your custom user Segments. But we'll speak more about this in a future lesson. πŸ˜‰

πŸ‘‰ Next, let's see why you may want to send in additional data and how you use that data to target your Experiences.

Your tools can help you keep a holistic understanding of your product's health. You can send more user data from your own back-end or third-party software. Making Chameleon more powerful and enabling you to:
