βš™οΈ Review from the Dashboard

How can you review attached elements?

In your Dashboard, head to the Data Management page β†’ on the Attached Elements tab. Here, you'll see a table of all the on-page elements currently being used across your Chameleon Experiences.

β„Ή This feature tracks elements across live Experiences in your account. For an Experience to show up on this page, an element should be attached either to position it or as an on-page trigger. Chameleon will check where this element lives and how users engage with it over time to understand better what "healthy" usage is. When Chameleon detects that users no longer see this element, you will see the status update to "Unusually low."

β„Ή Chameleon will look at your elements every 7 days to ensure all are working as expected. If you use a new on-page element with an Experience, it will take up to 7 days for Chameleon to track its activity.

In the table, you can review details about the different elements you use and adjust them if needed. In the description section, you can review the "Path" with the CSS selectors that point to the location of the on-page element within your page structure.

You'll also notice different descriptions above the path in the table. Chameleon will generate a description for your on-page element with AI. In case that description is not available, you'll see a generic description, "Missing Element" or "Attached Element".

The "Detection" column in the table signals whether Chameleon identified your on-page element and whether it appears present on the page and engaged with by your users. You'll see three different statuses here:

  • As expected -- the on-page element is present and engaged with by users

  • Building model -- when a new element is added; the seven-day period during which Chameleon tracks the element.

β„Ή We recommend you don't edit or reselect the on-page element during the "Building model" state so that Chameleon will get to track it properly.

  • Insufficient data -- Chameleon is still collecting data about the element

  • Unusually low -- the element is not seen and engaged with by users as expected

β„Ή By default, you'll see the elements with an Unusually low detection at the top. The other elements will appear alphabetically (based on the "Detection" status). You can sort the table to see other statuses up top and bring up elements you want to check or review.

You can also add a filter for a specific Experience type and review the attached elements belonging to Emebddables or Tours, for example.

Next to the status, you can see the Experience that it is currently used in. Click the name to open that Experience in a new tab.

πŸ‘‰ To review more details about a specific element, click "Review" to open a slideover and see how the element is used or reselect the element with the Builder.

The slideover will show more useful information, such as:

  • a screenshot of the selected element

  • when it was last seen by users

  • the URL

  • the last person who edited it

πŸ‘‰ To quickly review your element in context, click the screenshot to bring up a complete image of your page that highlights your selected element.

How can you fix an "Unusually low" detection?

If you notice elements with the "Unusually low" status, you can adjust the selected element or select a new one if your page structure has changed and that on-page element is no longer present.

Open the slideover and click "Reselect Element". This will open the Builder on the element selection panel, where you can quickly make adjustments or reselect the element.

You can also adjust or review elements that are working "As expected." Open the slideover and click "Edit in Builder".

Once you make adjustments, they will also be reflected in the table, and Chameleon will check to see how users engage with the new element you selected.

β„Ή If you use the "Click target" Trigger to launch your HelpBar, you will also see the on-page element you used to anchor your Trigger in the Attached Elements table.
