Chameleon's Slack integration allows you to receive Microsurvey responses directly in your Slack channels. This makes it easier for you to see, share, and discuss the responses with your teammates.

This integration enables Slack to be a Data Destination, allowing you to send Chameleon Microsurveys data to Slack.ย

Quick access

To enable the Slack integration, go to the Integrations page on the Chameleon Dashboard, and find the Slack integration option.

From the integration configuration page, you will be able to:

  • Connect to your Slack account using the OAuth flow.

  • Manage the different Microsurvey response Feeds.

  • Choose which properties you want to send to Slack.

Note: Depending on your company's Slack permissions you may need an Admin to approve installing the Chameleon app.

Setting up a new feed

Feeds are essentially the pipelines you can set up to transfer data from Chameleon to Slack. You can configure multiple feeds according to your needs; for example, to send different Microsurvey data to different Slack channels.

A new feed can be configured from the "Add Feed" button, under Configure Microsurvey response feeds to Slack channels. Here, you will be prompted to:

  • Select a name for the feed.

  • List all the Microsurveys you want the feed to listen to.

  • Indicate to which Slack channel the responses should be sent.

๐Ÿ’ก When adding a new feed, you can also test the connection to the indicated Slack channel by pressing the Send Test button. This will trigger a test message to your Slack channel.

All configured feeds will show up in this section and you can always go in to edit them. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sync the right properties into Slack

On the Slack integration page, you can also pick the user properties from Chameleon, that you can import and sync into Slack. From the drop-down list, pick up to 10 available properties in Chameleon, including those from other integrations or imported data, including user tags.

๐Ÿ’ก Use this option to make sure the right information reaches you along with the user's response.

When a user completes a Microsurvey, the following information will be sent to your Slack account in the Channel indicated:

  • User email (if it is being sent to Chameleon)

  • Microsurvey name

  • Microsurvey question

  • User response

  • User comments (if an input step is enabled)

  • URL where the Microsurvey was submitted

  • The user's name

  • The user's ID

  • The company name

You can also choose to send in additional data such as the user's role, his plan, when the account was created, and other properties you have in Chameleon.

Associate each slack feed with the critical user data that will help you engage that user the right way. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Interacting with the users

From each Slack response, you can further interact with your users. You can directly email this user, or see his Chameleon profile, which holds all his properties, and shows you a list of Experiences he's seeing, or a list of his Microsurvey responses. All the details you need to understand his response and your next steps. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We encourage to re-engage with this user to:

  • Thank the user for their feedback or insights

  • Ask clarifications

  • Schedule a follow-up conversation

It's important for users to know their feedback is being read and used by a real person, so any personal touches you can apply will encourage users to continue to give you feedback.ย

Analyzing the Microsurvey responses

You can always view and download all your user responses from the Chameleon Dashboard.

By clicking the name of the Microsurvey in the Slack message, you will be taken directly to the Dashboard page for that specific Microsurvey.ย Here you can export your Microsurvey data via a CSV file.

Note: Microsurvey responses -- except the text comments -- will also be automatically sent to any 'Data destination' integrations enabled (e.g. analytics tools).ย
