Chameleon's Slack integration allows you to receive Microsurvey responses, as well as HelpBar questions & answers, directly in your Slack channels. This makes it easier for you to see, share, and discuss the responses with your teammates. And take quick action to solve possible issues, or re-engage users with better resources.
Leverage the Slack integration to receive Chameleon data in your channels as soon as users answer your Microsurvey or ask a question in your HelpBar.
Availability & Usage
π Available for all plans
π Ready to use with Microsurveys, HelpBar
βοΈ Enable from the Dashboard
With our Slack integration, it's easy to keep in-app feedback visible and in the hands of teammates who can leverage it easily. You can send all Microsurvey responses to your public Slack channels, along with properties to help you identify who and why gave a specific response. And you'll get them as they come in from your users, to be able to address it as soon as possible.
To gain visibility over users' most common questions, you can also send the questions (and AI answers) from your HelpBar. This way, you can easily understand what challenges users face and how to make your solutions more visible, and accessible.
For both cases, all you have to do is set up a custom feed that will feed your Chameleon data into Slack.
Microsurvey responses can only be sent to public Slack channels.
βΉ Feeds are essentially the pipelines you can set up to transfer data from Chameleon to Slack.
To leverage Slack with Chameleon, first, head over to the integration page in the Dashboard to enable it on your account.
βΉ Depending on your company's Slack permissions you may need an Admin to approve connecting Chameleon to your Slack workspace.
With the integration enabled, here's what you'll be able to set:
Manage the different Microsurvey response feeds.
Choose which properties you want to send to Slack.
Manage your HelpBar AI Answers feeds
You can configure multiple feeds according to your needs; for example, to send different Microsurvey data to different Slack channels. All configured feeds will show up in this section and you can always go in to edit them.
Configure a new feed from the "Add Feed" button, under Configure Microsurvey response feeds to Slack channels. Here, you will be prompted to:
Pick a name for your feed
List all the Microsurveys you want the feed to listen to
Indicate the public Slack channel that should receive the responses
π‘ When adding a new feed, you can also test the connection to the indicated Slack channel by pressing the Send Test button. This will trigger a test message to your Slack channel.
Set up dedicated feeds that will pipe in any questions (and answers) users ask in your HelpBar. Your configured feeds will show up in this section, and you can always edit them.
Configure a new feed from the "Add Feed" button, under Configure HelpBar AI Answers feeds to Slack channels. And you will be prompted to:
Add a name for your feed
Pick the public Slack channel that should receive the Questions & answers

On the Slack integration page, you can also pick the user properties from Chameleon, that you can import and sync into Slack. From the drop-down list, pick up to 10 available properties in Chameleon, including those from other integrations or imported data, or user tags.
π‘ Use this option to make sure the right information reaches you along with the user's response, so you'll know what actions to follow up with.
The Slack integration with Chameleon enables you to keep a close eye on your in-app feedback. This ensures you connect with users who need more guidance quickly, to unblock them and help them succeed. As well as integrate essential feedback into your product conversations to better solve users' challenges.
If you're also using the HelpBar, this is a good opportunity to ensure you can respond to the most common and pressing questions and adjust your existing documentation.
When a user completes a Microsurvey, the following information will be sent to your Slack account in the Channel indicated:
User email (if it is being sent to Chameleon)
Microsurvey name
Microsurvey question
User response
User comments (if an input step is enabled)
URL where the Microsurvey was submitted
And any additional properties you add
Similarly, when users ask a question in your HelpBar, you'll get the following information in your Slack:
User email (if it is being sent to Chameleon)
Question asked
AI answer
URL where the HelpBar was submitted
And any additional properties you add
Combine this with additional data such as the user's role, his plan, when the account was created, and other properties you have in Chameleon to paint the full picture.
π€ Associate each Slack feed with the user data that will help you re-engage.
From each Slack response, you can further interact with your users. You can directly email this user, or see his Chameleon profile, which holds all his properties and shows you a list of Experiences he's seeing, or a list of his Microsurvey responses. All the details you need to understand his response and your next steps. π
We encourage you to re-engage to:
Thank the user for their feedback or insights
Ask clarifications
Schedule a follow-up conversation
Offer more insight into a problem they're facing
It's important for users to know their feedback is being read and used by a real person, so any personal touches you can apply will encourage users to continue to give you feedback.Β
You can always view and download all your user responses from the Chameleon Dashboard.
By clicking the name of the Microsurvey in the Slack message, you will be taken directly to the Dashboard page for that specific Microsurvey.Β Here you can export your Microsurvey data via a CSV file.
βΉ Microsurvey responses -- except the text comments -- will also be automatically sent to any 'Data destination' integrations enabled (e.g. analytics tools).
