While it is really easy to get started building in-product Experiences or Demos with Chameleon, there are a few things you can consider before jumping in. This way, you can jumpstart your flow in Chameleon and effectively enable your product's success.
To help you with this, we've put together a checklist. π
β Download the Chrome extension
The easiest way to get started with Chameleon is by installing the Chrome extension. If you don't have Chrome installed, you can download it here. This will enable you to try out the Builder and record Demos.
π» Ask your engineering team to help
While Chameleon is easy to install, you'll still need a little bit of engineering time to add the snippet to your product. This will enable you to publish Experiences live to users. You can check out the installation with Segment or Freshpaint, which are quick and easy. π
Take this opportunity to plan how you'll be using Chameleon and who you want to target with in-app Experiences. You can notify your engineers that you'll need help implementing the Chameleon code snippet and syncing user data to Chameleon (to use in targeting)
β What's your "Aha!" moment? Where do your users get stuck?
Before you begin building, consider what brought you to Chameleon. Do you know what action you want your users to take to get them to that Aha! moment and keep them engaged with your product?
Alternately, think about your user journey and at what points your users might get stuck. Do you think users could benefit from using a specific feature in your product that you want to guide them through?
Make a list of these items, and consider this the first version of your in-product experiences list!
π¨ Do you have a color palette or color scheme in mind?
Now that you have an idea of what kind of Experiences you want to use to guide your users to moments of value, think about what you want them to look like.
This is a great time to connect with your designer (or maybe that's you!) to compile the style you want to use! You can check out here, the styling options you have in Chameleon and see our Figma file with Chameleon components to help prepare your Themes and Templates.
π― Consider your goals in terms of metrics
As you're in the process of creating your Experiences, think about what metrics you can collect and use to measure success. For example, you might be using Chameleon to drive additional sign-ups or conversions to your subscription.
Identify your benchmark, and set regular check-in points for reviewing the data. Because you won't need additional engineering help to modify Chameleon Experiences, you can easily iterate on these and see how they are affecting your metrics!
π Which analytics tools do you use?
You can send your Chameleon engagement data to your analytics tools to learn more about your users and how your Experiences impact adoption! Some examples are Amplitude, Mixpanel, and Heap.
Make a list of the tools you're currently using and review how we can better use them during your kick-off call.
β
π©π»βπ» How many monthly active users do you have?
During your first call with Chameleon, we'll discuss the number of users you see in your product monthly. This is how we factor in the cost of your plan and what features might work best for your team.
π Schedule your kick-off call with us!
The Chameleon team is excited to meet you! We'd love to learn about how to help and how we can best support you and your users.
