Too often tours launch straight into showing users where to find things and what they should do, before users even know the context.

To prevent this, ensure the first step of any tour is focused on communicating your value proposition ("why" a user should engage with this tour).

Focus on the benefits in using this feature or product and directly speak to any pain points you're solving. If you tap into a user's motivation, they are much more likely to successfully complete the tour and engage in your product.

Once users realize the value they stand to gain the lightbulb will turn on and they'll happily engage with what you have to show. Read more about this in our blog post here
