The Chameleon HelpBar allows you to search and navigate between Chameleon resources, features, and pages to switch between guidance and product components effortlessly.

Integrated into your workflow, the HelpBar will save you time and boost your Experience building flow.

How does the HelpBar work?

The HelpBar is a built-in search and command engine that connects all Chameleon Help resources, best practices, Developer docs, Experiences, or pages. It’s our solution to quick navigation and contextual guidance, without interrupting your flow.

Use the HelpBar to search for, and access:

  • Dashboard pages

  • Chameleon Experiences

  • Segments, custom CSS codes, data Imports

  • Help articles & Developer docs

  • Blog content

  • Available Integrations

  • Experience Alerts

Open it with CMD+K (on Mac) or CTRL+K (on Windows) anywhere in Chameleon - the Dashboard, or while using the Builder in your app, and start typing in. You can search for one of your Experiences, a Segment you created, or a Help article to guide you through the configurations underway.

Type in a word and the HelpBar will pull up all available resources, be it Experiences, Help & Dev docs, custom audience imports, or Chameleon features. You can use simple words, and Chameleon will pull up a list of all connected resources available or pages you can navigate to.

The Chameleon HelpBar allows you to quickly access resources by using keyboard shortcuts. Chameleon Experiences, account configurations, or account-wide options will always have priority here, followed by self-serve resources.

Once you see your results, you can scan available resources by checking their icons to make sure you’re heading the right way. The friendly Chameleon icons signal integrated search components such as Help docs Alerts, Experiences, or Segments.

🎯 With each available result, you will also get a preview of relevant details to make your choice easier. For example, in the case of Help articles, you’ll see a content snippet. Or in the case of a Segment, you’ll see the number of users included in it.

Pick from the list of results the one that fits your need and you can navigate to it right away. If it's a Chameleon page, you'll be redirected to it. If it's an external resource, it will open in a new tab. No extra steps. 😉

How does the HelpBar fit into my flow?

The Chameleon HelpBar gathers all Chameleon components and useful guidance in one place. By bringing up the HelpBar, you have it all at your fingertips and can access it easily.

With it, whenever you need to check, learn, or edit something, you can do so without interrupting your usual flow.

Chameleon also learns from your search habits and will pull up recent searches as you continue to use it. You’ll notice that HelpBar has two main sections: “Recent” and “Recommended” searches. This way, it's integrated with your unique habits and needs.

💡 To help you stay on top of reaping in-product success, the HelpBar uses labels to show you whenever there's new guidance available, or specific configurations.

For example, you will see a “New” label for all recent additions, such as Help articles, best practices, or Developer resources. Or “Scheduled” for Experiences that are set to be displayed in the future.
