Chameleon collects data about your live Tooltips to help you understand how they perform and how they impact your product's success. You can review this data in your Chameleon Dashboard, or download or sync it to analyze along with your other product events.

How do I review my data?

You can review your Tooltips' performance in your Dashboard as well as export your data to enable a more holistic understanding. You can do this through:

πŸ’‘ It's never too soon to start understanding how your Tooltips impact your goals, even if you have to start with a spreadsheet. If you have dedicated analytics tools, make sure you include your Chameleon data in your usual reporting habits.


With Tooltips, Chameleon collects events such as Tooltip seen/ dismissed, Link clicked or button clicked. We also attach some useful properties, like the name of the Tooltip, the trigger type, the Environments it's in, or the button text.

Head over to the Tooltips page in your Dashboard to review their performance. Here, you can see how many Tooltips you have live, how many have been seen by your users each week, as well as their "Engagement Index".

β„Ή In the case of Tooltips, we're still improving how we track negative interactions so many times the "Engagement Index" can show a constant high score. We're working to bring a more accurate score for Tooltips soon.

In the table below, you can review individual metrics such as when a Tooltip was last seen, how many times it has been seen, or who is seeing it.
